John Cage’s 100th Birthday Celebration — Global 4’33″

John Cage, who is one of the most important composers of the 20th Century, was born on September 5, 1912. Hundreds of concerts and other kinds of events are happening throughout 2012 in celebration of Cage’s 100th birthday.

    Tonight we have celebrated the 100th Anniversary of John Cage with a five hour concert including a special event at the Parkteatret in Oslo, Norway.

    Rock keyboard iconoclast Keith Emerson has made a special recording of his performance of 4’33″. It is a very beautiful interpretation.
